Heart and Soul Cookies
The perfect dessert for chocolate lovers—these delectable delights come with smiles!

What you'll need:
  • 1 bag MILKY WAY® Brand MINIS® for Valentine's Day
  • 1 bag DOVE® Brand Milk or Dark Chocolate Hearts
  • 1 18-oz. roll refrigerated sugar cookie dough
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Red food coloring
  • Red or pink sugar crystals
  • Printable template, or 2-3/4 & 1-1/2-inch heart-shaped cookie cutters
What to do:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Knead cookie dough with flour until smooth. Roll out 2/3 of the dough to 1/4-inch thickness.
  3. Use the larger heart template (or cookie cutter) to cut out 18 heart shapes, each 2-3/4 inches. Transfer to cookie sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven, transfer to a wire rack, and let cool completely.
  4. Tint the remaining cookie dough with the red food coloring. Roll out the red cookie dough to 1/4-inch thickness.
  5. Use the smaller heart template (or cookie cutter) to cut out 18 heart shapes, each 1-1/2 inches. Sprinkle the tops of the smaller hearts with the sugar crystals, and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven, transfer to a wire rack, and let cool completely.
  6. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the heavy cream and 2 cups of MILKY WAY® Brand MINIS® for Valentine's Day about 1-1/2 minutes or until smooth, stirring every few seconds.
  7. Spread the top of each larger heart cookie with the melted chocolate mixture, and center a smaller heart cookie on top. Then spread the back of a DOVE® Brand Milk or Dark Chocolate Heart with the chocolate mixture, and place it in the center.
Makes 18 cookies.
