Oatmeal Brownie Gems

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats, uncooked
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2/3 cup butter, melted
  • 3/4 cups M&M’S® MINIS® Milk Chocolate Candies
  • 1 19- to 21-ounce package fudge brownie mix

Directions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • 2. In large bowl, combine oats, flour, sugar, nuts and baking soda; add butter and mix until coarse crumbs form.
  • 3. Toss in M&M’S® MINIS® Milk Chocolate Candies until evenly distributed. Reserve 3 cups mixture.
  • 4. Pat remaining mixture onto bottom of 15 x 10 x 1-inch pan to form crust.
  • 5. Pour prepared brownie mix (prepared according to package directions for fudge-like brownies) over crust, carefully spreading into thin layer.
  • 6. Sprinkle reserved crumb mixture over top of brownie mixture; pat down lightly.
  • 7. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out with moist crumbs.
  • 8. Cool completely.
  • 9. Cut into 1 1/2 –inch squares.
  • 10. Store in tightly-covered container.
