Elephant Cake
Big ears, big trunk, big fun! This cake tastes great any way you cut it!

What you'll need:
  • For the cookie ears and tusks
  • 1 18-oz. roll refrigerated cookie dough
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 1 cookie sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Aluminum Foil
  • Shortbread cookies (optional)
  • Printable template
  • For the cake
  • 1 bag SNICKERS® Brand MINIS®
  • 1 bag M&M’S® Brand Milk Chocolate Candies
  • 1 18.25-oz. box chocolate cake mix
  • 2 16-oz. cans vanilla frosting
  • Black food coloring
  • 1 large marshmallow
  • 2 8-inch round cake pans
  • Spatula
What to do:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Knead the flour into the cookie dough, and roll it out to 1/4-inch thickness. Using the printable template, cut out 2 ears and 2 tusks. Crinkle 2 pieces of aluminum foil and place on the prepared cookie sheet pan. Lay the ears on top of the foil to give it a wavy appearance. Arrange the tusks, flat, on the cookie sheet.
  3. Bake the tusks for approximately 10-12 minutes and the ears for 12-15 minutes, or until golden. Remove from the oven, transfer to a wire rack and let cool completely.
  4. Meanwhile, grease and flour the cake pans. Reserve 12 SNICKERS® Brand MINIS® and roughly chop 2 cups. Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions and divide the batter evenly between prepared cake pans. Sprinkle the chopped SNICKERS® Brand MINIS® over the batter.
  5. Bake for approximately 33-36 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven, transfer to a wire rack and cool for 15 minutes. Invert, remove pans and let cake cool completely.
  6. Tint the vanilla frosting gray with a touch of black food coloring. Stack the cake layers with a thin layer of frosting in between them. Completely frost the cake.
  7. Using the photograph as guide, arrange 6 unwrapped SNICKERS® Brand MINIS® on the cake for the trunk and cover them with frosting. Cut the marshmallow in half and place sticky side up onto the cake for eyes and top each with a brown M&M'S® Brand Milk Chocolate Candies for pupils and eyelashes. Arrange the tusks on either side of the trunk
  8. Spread the ears with frosting and arrange them on either side of the cake. Stack 2 or 3 of the reserved unwrapped SNICKERS® Brand MINIS® under each ear as additional support to hold up the ears.
  9. If you like, frost the top of some purchased shortbread cookies and decorate with M&M'S® Brand Milk Chocolate Candies and scatter them around the elephants.
