Activity time: 20 min.
Difficulty: Easy
What you'll need:
- 2 bags SNICKERS® Brand MINIS®
- 8 pieces (18-inch square) brown or orange cardstock
- Scissors
- 8 small bottles non-toxic glue
- 8 rolls double stick tape
- Hole punch
- Raffia
- Buttons, stickers and sticks
- Paints, colored magic markers
- Printable template
What to do:
- Before the party, make shields by cutting the cardstock into large ovals. Using our printable template, cut out oval handles and attach them to the back of the shields.
- Scatter the paper shields on the table along with pictures of different native shields so the kids can see what native art actually looks like.
- Place the candy on the table with assorted decorative trinkets, such as natural raffia, buttons, and other native looking objects. Include glue and tape as well as an assortment of paints and markers.
- Have the kids create their own native shields, attaching these objects. If there is time, get all the kids together and have them make up a story about their shield and tribe!
