Nature Scavenger Hunt Divide kids into teams and give them a list of items to gather. Provide each team with a bucket and paper and crayons. Items can be anything you find in nature: sticks, leafs, pine cones, feathers, pebbles and flowers. Use the paper and crayons for items like bark rubbings and drawings of trees or birds that kids see.
Sidewalk Art Provide kids with lots of outdoor chalk and let them draw whatever they want. They can do birthday messages to the birthday boy or girl, or set up games of hopscotch, four-square and tic-tac-toe.
Buggy Craft Kids can create craft versions of bugs using colored pipe cleaners, colored cotton balls, googly eyes, and felt. Give them a table to spread out and provide craft items and glue. Glue together 3 green cotton balls, add googly eyes and pipe-cleaner antennae to make a caterpillar. Use your imaginations to invent strange new insects!
